Default How do I Plow New Fields?

This is the single plow tool it allows you to plow a single field at a time and also to plow any wasted crops.
To plow new fields, you must have enough clear space on your farm for the new field and you must have coins.

Each plowed field will cost you 20 coins and earn you 1 XP (experience points are what you need to increase your game level and earn some free Farm Cash),

When you click on the Plow tool it picks it up. As you and move it over your farm the background of the plow field will be green if there is space for you to plow a new field. If the background is red, there is not enough space.

To stop using the Plow tool click on the green man.

If you want your plots to be right up against each other instead of having space between each one, you must first make sure that Remove Spaces Between Fields is checked in the preferences menu.
Click on the Preferences icon and add the check mark to Remove Spaces Between Fields then click on the green check mark to save that change.

Existing Fields which are already plowed or harvested must be deleted first.

Then you will be able to plow new fields so that they are closer together without those spaces.

This picture shows the difference between plowing without spaces and with spaces. As you can see if you plow without spaces you can fit more fields into roughly the same area.

Default What is the Tool box?

What is the Tool box?

The Tool box is where you can find all your tools, (for the larger tools you will see them if you have bought them and placed them into item storage. Note: Farm Cash items do NOT use up your Item storage space, you can store as many Farm Cash items as you want). You will also find your facility manager, quest managers, ship manager, minigames and many more items that can help you with the game. When you first start playing the game you will not have many items in the tool box. As you start playing and levelling up you will gradually get access to more items and then again when you start buying the bigger tools and place them into item storage.

When there is a number on the Tool box, that means that there are ether:
  • Trains for you to boost from your friends in your Train Manager,
  • Ships to load from your friends in your Seaport Manager
  • You have Neighbour or Buddy Requests in your Farmers Lists
  • or a combination of all of those.

The counter updates approximately every 10 minutes as you work your farms.

To open your Tool box, click on the tool box icon.
You will then see something similar to this, but it will show you your tools. Anything that is greyed out is something you do not have access to yet due to game level or it is a tool you do not own or it is a tool you have not placed it into item storage.

It is always a good idea to place any tools you own into item storage, that way you can access your tools from the toolbox from any farm without having to move the tools to each farm. It also helps when you need to upgrade a tool as the game will be able to see what you already own. To use a tool just click on it to pick it up. Click the green man to stop using it.

To close the tool box click on the big white x just beneath the bottom right of the window.

These arrows will show at either the top or bottom of each column when there are more items in the column than can be displayed all at once, just click on them to scroll the column up or down. OR if you have a mouse with a wheel, you can hover over each column and use the mouse wheel to scroll.

Default What is the Games Activity Panel?

What is the Games Activity Panel?

It is a list of information of which friends have helped you recently.

It is located beneath your game screen and shows some of your friends actions where they interact with you in the game. It can only show around 130 items at a time and will refresh when you reload the game.
This is an example of what you could see:

If there are a lot of items you can use the scroll bar to the right to scroll the list.

You can change what type of Actions it shows at the bottom of the panel by adding or removing the check marks for each of the options:
  • Farming:
    • xxxx is now your neighbour (means you accepted their neighbour request),
    • worked at your farm (harvested, plowed, chopped, fished or planted etc)
    • added you as a SN (Super Neighbour)
    • watered your flowers or watered ALL your flowers (includes irrigating farms for you when done as a Super Neighbour and YOU own the relevant mobile sprinkler to Irrigate)

    Trains:
    • accelerated your train
    • managed your trains - unloading/dispatching (requires the Super Neighbour Train Management permission)

    Ships:
    • loaded your ship at their port

    Facilities:
    • worked in your facilities (regular/production facilities)
    • referred clients to you (service facilities)

    Products:
    • sent you ingredients
    • helped you claim a bonus
    • helped you in your quests (co-operative quest help notes)
    • traded products with you (online or via the Trading Warehouse)
    • exported products to you (Facility Chains feature)

You can also change the way the information is sorted. The Sort By options are as follows:
Date - most recent activity

Name - alphabetically

Action - each catergory of actions are grouped together

Default What is the Marketplace for?

The Marketplace is where you go to meet other farmers.
You can look for work there, hire farmers to work your farms, buy, sell, trade, meet other farmers.

To get to the Marketplace you just click on the Map icon and click on the marketplace you want to go to. There are 2 Marketplaces, one is the Job Marketplace (Work and Hire), the other Trade Marketplace (Sell and Trade).

To move around the Marketplace you just click your mouse where you want to go and your avatar will go there.

You can also sell your harvests/products at the Job Marketplace. There is a Trade Marketplace which is better for selling, you are less likely to be hired there when you are busy trying to sell. For detailed information on how to sell your harvests/products or gifts see Chapter 14 - Selling from storage or gift box.

For details on how to buy/sell basic products to another farmer see Buying and selling between farmers.

There is no limit on how much you can sell to another farmer, but there is a limit on how much you can buy from another farmer. For details see What is my Buying limit?

For details on how to hire someone to work your farms see Chapter 09 - Hiring.

This plug icon top right of your game screen will be green when you are in online mode. It will be red when you are offline. Clicking on that icon lets you change it between online and offline mode.
If you are online at the Marketplace but there is no-one at the market, check that your plug is still green, If it is not click on the red plug to change it to green and then refresh the market by clicking on the MAP and then the Marketplace again or reload your game and try again.

If you are still not seeing anyone at market, your game language may need changing to one that is more popular to use like English (US). If you are not sure how to change your in game language, please click on this link and scroll down the bottom of the post to Languages for information:
https://r1.slashkey.com/forum/showth...78#post6303478

Q. What are the coloured backgrounds on avatar names at market?
A. These indicate what the farmer is intending to do at market, which can be helpful when you want to know who is looking for work or who is there to hire for example.

To do this you must be at one of the Marketplaces.

At the Job Marketplace you have the following buttons showing to the right of the market place.

Click on S to change your status to Selling if you are at market to sell products from your Storage. The button and your avatar name background will turn brown. To deselect it click the button again.

Click on H to change your status to Hiring if you want to Hire someone to work your farms. The button and your avatar name background will change to pink.
If you ONLY have this option selected you will not be sent hire requests. To deselect it click the button again.
When hiring a farmer if you and your employee are on the same farm that they are working, they will see your avatar nameplate in pink, you will see their avatar nameplate in red.

Click on W to change your status to Work if you are at market to work for other farmers. The button and your avatar name background will turn red. To deselect it click the button again.
When being hired by a farmer, if your employee is also on the farm that you are working, they will see your avatar nameplate in red, you will see their avatar nameplate in pink.

Click on M to change your status to Meet if you are at market to meet other farmers. The button and your avatar name background will turn light blue. To deselect it click the button again.

Clicking on this button allows you to temporarily change your nameplate. You could use this to add a short message for what job you are looking for like, cops or trees or what product you would like to buy from other farmers and quantity. Click in the box to delete what is there and use your keyboard to type the new message. Click the green check mark to save your change or click the the red X to cancel.
Note: When you start hiring someone, the H button is set to PINK automatically. After you have finished hiring, it resets back to the color it had before you started the hiring.

At the Trade Marketplace you have the following buttons showing to the right of the marketplace:

Click on S to change your status to Selling if you are at market to sell products from your storage. The button and your avatar name background will turn brown. To deselect it click the button again.

Click on BF to change your status if you want to buy products from other farmers. The button and your avatar name background will change to light green. To deselect it click the button again.

Click on SF to change your status if you are at market to sell products to other farmers. The button and your avatar name background will turn dark green. To deselect it click the button again.

This button will have a number on it if you have offers in your Trading Warehouse. Clicking on the TO button does several things, opens your Trading Warehouse where you can add or change your offers, turns the button beige and changes the background color of your avatar name beige. The numbers will increase when you add new trade offers and will decrease when your trade products are bought by farmers.

Click on the M if you are at market to meet other farmers.

Note: when you sell to a farmer, the SF button is set to DARK GREEN automatically. After you close the selling screen, it resets back to the color it had before you started selling

You can indicate more than one intention at the same time

For example, you may want to hire others but you may also want to be available for others to hire you, so if you enable the H (Hire, pink color) and W (Work, red color) buttons, your avatar name will be colored in pink and red at the same time.

The only case where hire requests sent to you will get blocked is when the H button is selected and the W button is clear. If both, the H and W buttons are selected, you will be able to receive Hire requests as usual.

When you are selling products to the Mayor/Tom, the S button will activate automatically so others know that you are currently selling products.

The status change is only saved for that session, you may change it as often as you wish but you must be at one of the marketplaces to do it.

When you reload the game your status will change back to white with your Avatar name.

When you send a hire request to a farmer, their background colour will change to Orange. If they do not respond it will then turn to Yellow. This will help you know who you have already sent a request to so you don't send to the same person again.

There are several options when you click on your avatar when you are not on your own farm. You will see this:

Hover over each option and it will turn orange.

Clicking on one of the options does the following:
  • Go To Your Farm will take you back to your default farm.

  • Change Appearance will open the Avatar editor where you can change how your avatar will look.

  • Change Status Message will open a message directing you to the buttons to the right of the marketplace where you can change your status. You must be at one of the Marketplaces to change your avatar status.

  • Show Trading Warehouse you will have access to when you reach Level 20. It will open your Trading Warehouse where you can make sales for selling Super Facility products. Both of those features are explained in later chapters of the Game Guide.

To go back to your own farms click on the House Icon.
Click on the house icon bottom right of your game screen.

When you have more than one farm and you click on the house icon you will have more options. Each numbered box under SHOW NAMES represents one of your farms, clicking on one of those boxes will take you to that farm. This example shows 40 farms with Farm 11 highlighted in yellow.

SHOW NAMES when clicked on will open a large window titled "Go to Farm". Clicking on the name of a farm will take you to that farm.

DEFAULT when clicked on will take you back to your default farm.

LAST when clicked on will take you back to the last one of your farms you were on. This is also indicted by the yellow in the one of the boxes representing each of your farms.

Default Where is the Chat Window and what is it for?

The Chat Window is located behind your Neighbours Bar where the picture of your friends and their avatars are. This is what it looks like when it is closed. Profile pictures have been blurred for privacy.

Over to the left you can see CHAT. Click on it to open the Chat Window.
Chat will then change to HIDE, click on HIDE to close it and view your neighbours again.

When you are online and in an area where there is another farmer also online, the Chat window will automatically open and you will be able to see what other farmers are saying.

There is a scroll bar to the right you can use to see earlier messages if the chat is moving fast and one you wanted to see again goes out of view.

For many years a limitation of flash prevented being able to type in the chat window while in Full Screen mode. This is now possible since the migration away from flash.

To talk to the farmers present just click in the white box at the bottom of the window and start typing. When you have finished typing you can either click the Enter key on your keyboard or click on the SEND button to the right of where you typed your message.

If the window does not automatically open when another farmer is present you can open it yourself by clicking on CHAT. In this case when you click on CHAT you do not have to click in the white box at the bottom of the window, you can just start typing.

The messages you see you can click on to open that person's avatar menu, which you can use to do things like hire them, send a private message, visit their farm. This will only work if the farmer is still present, if they have left you will see a brief message in white telling you so.

To Mute in This Session you can either click on what they are saying in the chat box OR click on their avatar to get the avatar menu. When you click on that option you will then see a popup message asking you to confirm, check that the correct avatar name is in the popup and then click the green check mark to save or the red X to cancel. Examples:

When you use this option the user is muted for the current session. You start a new session when you reload the game.

For more ways to Block a Farmer for more than a session, and how to and when to use the red icons on the left side of the chat window, please click on this link to to Chapter 07 - Blocking In Farm Town

Default How to use the Search Tools

There are several ways to search for something in Farm Town.

When searching we recommend that you avoid using a common name that would get you too many hits. For example when searching for something that exists on your farm, using the word grape , if you had both crops and trees showing, will show you anything using grape in the name so if you had all of these on your farm all of them would show up:
  • purple grapes
  • green grapes
  • grape tomatoes
  • grapefruit tree

When searching in your Harvests&Products storage looking for something like meat lasagna if you were to just search for meat you would likely get a considerable amount of hits as meat is used in the name of many products, whether you got them by making the products yourself or by working a friends facilities. So in this case meat l would work well as would the full name meat lasagna so in some cases you don't have to type in the full name of what you are searching for.

The same goes for searching for something in Item storage depending on what you are looking for. Searching for Tree will not only bring up every tree you have in storage that could used to chop or harvest in Farm Town, but every decorative tree, tree shaker tool, or building where tree is in the name of the item.

Searching for something that exists on your farm.

To see what is on your farm, you need to have a check mark added to the Items that you wish to see.
Crops, plowed/harvested fields, trees, flowers that you can harvest are all Coin items.
The rest can have Items costing either Coins or Farm Cash to buy.
Make sure that you are also showing both Farm Cash Items AND Coin Items when working for others or when altering your farms.

Show whichever items you are searching for in your game preferences (also commonly referred to as game settings). So for crops you would need a check mark added for Show crops, for Trees you would need a check mark added for Show Trees, for Facilities you would need a check mark added for the type of facility you want to see (Regular Facilities which includes the Non-Workable Facilities, Service Facilities) and so on PLUS check marks for Show Farm Cash Items AND Show Coin Items.

If you're not sure what category your item is in just show everything possible by clicking on the All button in the top section, then click the green check mark at the bottom to save the changes.

When looking for specific Items on your farms, with the relevant preferences set to show, you can use the Search Tool in your toolbox.
For this example we are searching for trees and crops so in preferences we have made sure that there is a check mark added for Show Crops, Show Trees and Show Coin Items.

Click on your toolbox to open it

Then click on the Search tool.

A search box will open.
You can just search for one item if you wish, but for this example we are going to search for 3 items at once, which can be useful when you're wanting to just harvest specific things for quests.

Type in the name of the item you are looking for. In this case, we're wanting to find rosemary, wheat and olive trees so in the search box we type each item separated with a comma like this rosemary, wheat, olive

Then choose whether you want to
  • Highlight matching items - those items would be highlighted in yellow and nothing else would be hidden
  • Hide non-matching items - it will only show the items matching your search criteria and temporarily hide everything else.

For this example we only want to see those specific items so we chose the hide option.

Then click the green check mark.

The game then hides everything else that doesn't match your search criteria

As you can see the rosemary, wheat and the olive trees are showing. The buckwheat also shows as wheat is part of the name.

When you are done you can click on the Show Items button located bottom right of your game screen to bring all the other items back into view.

You have access to this tool, when on your own farms and on any farm that you visit.

Searching the Store, your Storage or the Facility Manager.
In the Store there is a search box top right of the window that you can type in the name of the item or items you are looking for. It Looks like this:

With this one as you type in the box, the items that fit your search criteria come into view. If there are more items fitting your search than can fit in the window you have to use the scroll bar to view more of them.

You can search for several specific items at once by typing in more than one item, or you could use a commonly used word like barn to bring all barns into view, grape will show you anything with grape in the name, seeder would show you all the seeder tools but with that one you will have to scroll the list to see them all as there are quite a few.... and so on.

For example, should you want to buy a wool shed for your farm and also the animals to go into it you could type in llama, sheep, wool. Remember each item has to be seperated with a comma.

Then you will see something like this. Remember decorative animals do NOT give you products. Any animal that shows in the store that has a question mark, you can click on the question mark to see what it produces. If it doesn't have a question mark then it is only for decoration.

The search tool in your storage looks very similar to the one in your toolbox. It's located top right of the storage windows and the Facility Manager. It looks like this:

When you click on that icon you get a search box to type in the name of what you are searching for.

Again you can search for a specific item or several items at once.
Remember common words will likely get you many hits depending on what you have in storage so if you are wanting to find a specific item you will need to type in more of the name of the item.

As there are a considerable amount of items with commonly used words in the description, you may find it easier to filter storage to specific categories rather than viewing all of them at once.

To filter your storage to specific categories there is an AZ icon you can click on. Click on the AZ and then click on the category you want to view.

You can also use this tool while selling your harvests and products, gifts or items at market.

The Facility Manager, which you can use when you have at least 2 different facilities on your farm, is also located in your toolbox, the same search icon is also top right of the window which allows you to search for a specific facility that you have on your farms according to the filters you set the Facility Manager to show. To open the Facility Manger click on the Facility Manger Icon in your toolbox.

When you click on the icon you get a search box to type into. As you type, the facilities that meet your search criteria will come into view. If there are a more than one that meet the criteria you will need to click on the arrows next to the search box to see more of them. This is an example of what to type when searching for all your mills:

Clicking the arrows will show you facilities like metal mill, sawmill, textile and spinning mill, red windmill, stone windmill, watermill as mill is part of those facilities names. If you own a lot of facilities you may be better off searching for the full mane of the facility, so if you only wanted to see the watermill, you type watermill

The Facility Manger can NOT show you if you have more than one of the same facility on the same farm. It will only show you one of them as only one will produce products or stock goods.

There are more details on how to filter the Facility Manager in different ways that you can use to help you search for specific facilities on specific farms in the post about the Facility Manager.

Default What is the Eye for?

What is the Eye for?

When you reach level 10 and you pick up a tool to work the items on your farms like the harvest tool for harvesting crops for example, if you look in the bottom right corner of the game screen you will see an Eye. This gives you the option to hide non-relevant items for the tool you are using.

Click on the Eye to change the setting.

When the Eye is BLACK you still see everything on your farms.

When the eye is RED, you will only see the items the harvest tool can harvest, like fields, trees and flowers. Clicking on an item with the harvest tool will harvest the item then make it temporarily disappear from view, which can be easier for you when you have more items on the farm.

As you progress through the game, use other tools and get more tools you will find the Eye will also show up when using some of those.

When using Full Screen mode:

The Full Screen icon ,indicated in the picture with an arrow, allows you to view the farm much bigger so that it fills the whole screen on your computer.

Click on the icon to go Full Screen, click on it again to return to normal screen.

Default What are the red squares or blocks of red when hiding items?

What are the red squares or blocks of red when hiding items?

They are a temporary indicator to help you know where the footprint of some of your items are on your farms. This helps you to know where your items are placed so that you don't try to place another item exactly on top of it or are trying to see if there's enough room to place something can be placed in a small clear area of your farm.

Each red square will show you where you placed an item when you hide it by using one the methods below or by perhaps by using the hide option in the menu you see when you click on an item on your farm.

When you have a lot of items right next to each other those red squares will join up and form a block of red instead of individual squares.

This is the Hide Tool in your Toolbox which you can click on to use and then click on an item on your farm to temporarily hide a single item or more if you use the tool more than once.

You can not use the Hide Tool to hide fields or ground cover, those can only be hidden in preferences. Plowed fields don't hide, they must be planted to be able to hide them using preferences for crops.

When you are done using the tool, click the green man to stop using the tool. If you no longer need to see the red squares, then you can just refresh the farm and those individually hidden items will then show back up. If you only have on farm you can reload the game.

This is an example of what will show when one of 2 pines tree is hidden. In the picture the red square is where the hidden pine tree is placed on the farm.

This is the preferences icon top right of your game screen where you would go to show or hide crops for example. When you use preferences to show and hide things like crops trees etc, you show and hide all of that item, so all crops, all trees. When you have a lot of items on your farms and you hide them after showing them, you will see more red squares or blocks of red.

Remember that some Items cost Coins to buy and some cost Farm Cash to buy so you will also need the check marks added to both Show Farm Cash Items and Show Coin Items when needed.

Example:
If you were only showing trees and Coin Items in your preferences and then decided to not show the the trees by removing the check mark for Show Trees, you would hide all of the workable trees.

The picture below is of multiple pine trees that are planted close together and there is one missing towards the middle of them.

If you look carefully at the top of the pine trees in the left picture, you might be able to see where there is one missing, but that doesn't show you where the base of the new tree should go as you can't see it. So if you hide the trees in preferences, what you would see is the right picture.

The square in the middle of that red block that is not red doesn't have a pine tree there. The block of red around that is where the bottom of the hidden pine trees are. It's a block of red rather than induvial red squares because all the pine trees are right next to each other.
This is useful if you want to check where you could place another one in amongst them so you have an idea of where the foot of the pine tree should go. In this example you could place one in the green square in that red blocked area

When hiding crops it works a little differently because a field that you plow visually takes up more space than an Item with a small footprint like a pine tree or flower, which would show you one red square.
You still only see one red square per field of crop and that red square is in the uppermost corner of that plot. There are many items in the game that are like this, the wider trees, buildings, bigger decorations, facilities etc

To give you an idea of the size of a plowed field compared to the space pine trees would use and where the red square would be in relation to a hidden crop, in this picture I have plowed 2 single fields, planted 9 pine trees above the plowed field and planted the other field with rice. I have also used the Grass with Guidelines ground cover which displays a red grid on the whole farm at ground level. As you can see 1 plowed field is approximately 9 squares, the similar amount of space used if you were to plant 9 pines in a squared layout.

If you wanted to hide plowed or harvested fields using your preferences, you would remove the check mark for Show Coin Items.

When you are done with remodelling your farm, please remember to add all of the check marks back in preferences so that you can see everything on your farm again.

In the picture below I only have Crops and Show Coin Items showing.

When I remove the check mark for show crops in preferences, the plowed field still shows up because it isn't planted and because I still have the check mark for Show Coin Items added.

The rice field disappears and a red square appears where it was. The blue arrows in the pictures indicate the top corner of that rice field which is where that red square will be when you hide the crops.

In these pictures below I have plowed 2 lots of 16 fields in a 4 x 4 square layout, planted them. The top picture is the crops showing. The bottom picture is what you see when I hide the crops using preferences (removed the check mark for Show Crops.)

The Grass with Guidelines ground cover can come in very handy when you design or remodel your farms and put more on them or want to make sure everything is lined up where you want them.

You will find it easily by Opening the Store and using the search box at the top to type in guideline

OR you could find it by clicking on the Path/Ground section and then click on the AZ icon top right and click on the filter named Cost That will put all the available ground covers at the top of that section of the store.

Grass with Guidelines first purchase costs 35 Farm Cash.
After that you can use and reuse it on as many farms as you want and each time you change a ground cover it will only cost 100 coins just like the other ground covers in the store.

Default How to use the Camera

How to Use the Camera in your Toolbox to take picture of your farm.

Before you take a photo of your farm you first need to decide what it is you want to see in the picture:
  1. Everything on the farm or some things on it.

  2. The whole farm or a portion of the farm.

  3. Whether the picture needs to be small, medium or large.

IMPORTANT: If you are going to post the photo in the forum please ONLY use the SMALL SIZE. The Medium and Large sizes are far too wide for the forum.

  4. If the picture has a green background or a white background.

  5. Any description you want to add if you are posting it to Facebook.
OR if you don't want to post the picture to Facebook straight away and only save a temporary photo in the Farm Pictures section of the Account tab where you can use a different method to post it to Facebook before the pictures are automatically deleted from that section.

The Farm Pictures section of the Account tab can store up to a maximum of 200 pictures in a month. There are sections for the current month and the 3 previous months. Beginning of each new month the pictures in the oldest month will automatically be deleted.

1. Go to the farm you want to take a picture of.

2. If you are already on it and may have just finished designing it, reload the farm or the game just in case anything is temporarily hidden that you may have forgotten about, and for any red squares that help indicate where hidden items are to disappear.
You can Refresh a farm without reloading the game if you have more than one farm. Look toward the top left of your game screen for coloured rectangles. The one with the yellow background is the farm that you are currently on. If you click on that yellow rectangle you will reload that farm. In this example Farm 1 is the farm this farmer is on.

3. Check your preference settings.
Make sure that you have check marks on everything you want to show up in the picture.
The sections of preferences that you may want to use are indicated in red in the picture below.
Freeze animals can help to stop your animals moving if you want them in the picture.
If you make any changes remember to click on the green check mark at the bottom of the Preferences window to save the change.

4. You can not take a photo while in Full Screen mode.
If you try to take a picture while in Full Screen mode you will see this message. Even if you are not going to post the picture to Facebook you must still click on the green check mark to drop out of Full Screen Mode.

5. Click on the yellow toolbox bottom right of your game screen

6. The Camera is located in your Toolbox in the 2nd column from the left at the very bottom. Click on it and you will be shown the Save this Picture window that has some options that you can choose to use.
There are 2 options at the top of the window. Farm and Window

To take a picture of the full farm you need to use Farm mode which is always set to default and has an orange background.

If you are posting to Facebook the picture will be limited to the size of the Facebook posting box, but once posted there, all you do to see it bigger is click on it.

These examples show Farm Mode selected and what using Small size looks like when seeing a picture of the entire farm posted on the forum. This farm is 60x60 in size.

The other option Window mode gives you the option of taking a picture of only part of the farm instead of all of it.

Getting a picture right using Window mode can take some practice with zooming the farm size and moving the farm around to get the picture how you want it, but it can be useful if you want to show only a section of the farm or something small that would not be easily seen in a full farm picture.

To use Window mode click on the Window button to turn it orange.

You will see a mini picture of what that will look like. If it's not quite right, click on the red X top right of the window, adjust your farm and then try again.

When you post to Facebook your picture will be limited to the size of the Facebook posting box, but once posted all you do to see it bigger is click on it.

These examples show Window Mode selected and what using Small size looks like when seeing a picture of the a portion of a farm posted on the forum.

7. Below the example of your photo is the option to post to Facebook if you have a Facebook account.

The check mark must be ADDED if you want to post it to Facebook and you must be logged into your Facebook account to be able to post it.

If you do not want to post it to Facebook you can remove the check mark and when you take the photo it will be in your Farm Pictures section of the account tab where you will be able to see it and get a link for the picture to be able to post it at a later time using the Farm Pictures section of the Account tab.
8. Below the Facebook option are the picture sizes, Small, Medium, Large. Select the one you want to use.

Remember if the picture is for the forum ONLY use the Small size.

On Facebook you will mostly only notice the difference in sizes when you click on the picture on Facebook.

On the forum it will post the size without needing to click on the picture, but the Medium and Large sizes are far too big for the forum width, so please the Small size for the forum.

9. To the right of the sizes is the option to show a green background or white background.

Background: Green is set to default. If you want to change that and see what your picture will look like with a white background click on the little drop down arrow then click on Background: White.

10. Once you are happy with your choices click on NEXT.

If you are not posting it to Facebook the picture will be saved in your Farm Pictures section in the Account tab.

If you are posting to Facebook you will then see the a popup to Confirm posting to Facebook.

Click on the Green Check mark to continue.

The Facebook posting box will then show up in another window where you can do the usual things like, change the privacy of the photo, add a description, along with the other usual Facebook posting options.

In this example the picture is set to post to Public and will post to your profile as well as Facebook Newsfeed. The Public button can be clicked on to allow you to change the privacy of the photo when you post it to Facebook. OR you can change the privacy on the post after you have posted it to Facebook.

Default Where are my Farm Pictures?

Farm Pictures
Pictures taken with the in game camera will not immediately post to Facebook at this time and are stored in a NEW Farm Pictures section of the Website Account tab.
From that section you can get a link for the picture to post it to Facebook.

The Farm Pictures section in the account tab shows all the farm pictures you have taken in the past 3 months.

It can show up to a maximum of 200 pictures in a month.

Pictures older than 3 months are deleted automatically.

To see the pictures you have taken of your farms with the in game camera:

You can either click on this link to go to your Farm Pictures section
https://apps.slashkey.com/farmtown/s...farm_pictures/

OR
  1. Click on the Account tab at the top of the game screen
  2. Then click on Farm Pictures
  3. Then click on the Month that you took the picture and you will see all the photos you took in that month.

  4. If you want to view a single picture, click on the link just above the picture that says Show Original Size indicated with Red arrow D.

You will then view that picture in full screen in the size that you used (small, medium, large).

  5. If you want to post that picture to Facebook you can copy the information in the browser address bar, indicated with Red arrow below and paste it into your post on your timeline with whatever Privacy settings you want to use on your Facebook profile.

Once the picture is showing up on Facebook you can then Share it as normal to groups or copy and paste the link in a group, perhaps to showcase your design or enter any contests design groups may be running.

Please note that once you share or paste a link into another area like a Facebook group, that Facebook automatically changes the privacy on the post in the group to Public.
