Farm Town was deactivated on Facebook as expected on Monday July 24th, 2023.
If you have registered for the website, in the last 6 months, to continue playing Farm Town on the Slashkey Website, please click on the link above and save it to your browser!!!

Always use the official link to play on the Website so that you know you are using the current version of the game.
You must allow cookies in your browser in order to log into the website
OR you can just allow the slashkey.com cookie if you prefer to only allow specific cookies.

You should have already registered to be able to play on the Website by now.

If you did not get registered in time, when you go to the Website you can
click on the BLUE Sign Up button on the Slashkey login page for information and contact the support team to see if you can still get registered.

In that same area is the GREEN Sign Up button which will allow you to create a NEW account and start playing Farm Town from the beginning.






There ARE some differences between what was possible to do in the Facebook version and the Slashkey Website. The WEB Guide can help to understand those differences.

This WEB Guide is an additional aid to the regular Game Guide to help show you when and where there is a difference between the Facebook game and the Website game that you need to know about!

UPDATE 28th July 2023 , 5:20PM New rule for *new* players signing up in the new website when sending Farm Cash gifts to other players.

They can send as much Farm Cash as they have bought themselves, Farm Cash earned by leveling up or any other way cannot be sent to other players. This is to mitigate the creation of fake accounts in the new website with the sole purpose of leveling up and sending Farm Cash to other players.

There is a link you can click to Include or Hide posts from Farmers that have you as a Neighbour or Buddy but are not your Neighbour or Buddy yet. What friends that are currently showing there are is from the last time you loaded the Facebook game so that your friends list could be updated to the Website. This will likely no longer be useful in the future.

Other Wall Requests Wall Requests..

You can now send a Requested gift in the Website Other Wall Requests.
When you click on the Send XXX you will then see in Gift Sent red text.
When you next reload the Other Wall Requests that sent gift will show a pink background as usual.

You will no longer see multiple facility posts from the same farmer in the Facility Wall Requests section of My Requests.

You will ONLY see the most recent Facility Requests by that farmer. The older Facility Requests that they already posted earlier are automatically removed. This means you will see more Facility Requests from different farmers on that page and it still allows those that like to post them much more frequently than others do, to continue doing that.

How to get to the Slashkey Website
How to use your registration details to Login

To go to the Slashkey Website:

Click on this Link: https://apps.slashkey.com/farmtown/

OR Click on the Play in FarmTown.com button.
at the top of the Forum

Blocked cookies in your browser can prevent you from logging into the Website.

It is important that you make no mistakes when entering your registration details! Take your time!


You will see the Login page like this:

In this example we have partially hidden the email address used and hidden the Password:

Click in the Email or USER ID line and type in:

1. the email address you used to register your Farm Town Account to the Slashkey website.
   
   
2. OR you can enter your USER ID instead of the email address.
   
   
3. Then click in the Password line and type in the Password you used to register your Farm Town Account to the Slashkey website. If you like to see your password as you type it, put a check mark in the box next to Show Password.
   
   
4. Then click on Login.
   If you're details are correct your game will load and you will see your farms.
   

   At the top LEFT you will see the Slashkey Logo.
   
   At the top RIGHT you will see your current Profile picture, the Logout Button for logging out of the Website and the FarmTown Logo.

you will see this:

The red text in the picture is slightly different to what you will see, we had to modify it to get the picture to fit in the forum due to the wide screen the Website uses.

When an Incorrect Email or USER ID OR Password is typed in and doesn't doesn't match your registration details you will see that indicated in red text above the Login Button:

IF blocked cookies is not the issue:

1. Click in the Email or USER ID line and delete everything in that line.
Then try typing either the email address or your USER ID in again. (doesn't matter which one you try)

2. Click in the Password Line and delete everything in that line.
Then try typing the Password in again.

Remember it only takes a one space/number/character to be wrong for it not to work.

3.When you have typed the information in the Email or USER ID line and the Password is also entered, click on Login again.

Description of connections with farmers you need to know!

For the last 6 months you have been asked to make sure that any Facebook friends you wanted to continue to interact with within the Slashkey Website were added to either your Neighbour or Buddy list.
The last tine you loaded Farm Town on Facebook is likely to be the last time your Facebook friends list was updated to the Website.
This can no longer happen now that Farm Town is deactivated on Facebook.
Any friends that you have not added to your Neighbour or Buddy list will show up in the Friends List Manager, Facebook Friends section under Non-Neighbour or Buddy.
NEW Facebook friends added since the game was deactivated on Facebook on July 24th, 2023 will not show up!


To maximize the amount of farmers you interact with it's better not to add the same farmer as both a Neighbour and also as a Buddy.
Keeping different farmers on the Buddy List than you have as your Neighbour gives you more farmers that can help you.

You will need to know the different types of connection that you can have in the game for Neighbours (one way connection, mutual connection), those that are Buddies.
Then you will be able to know what you can do with current Facebook Friends that have no connection to you at all within the game.
Within the game you will see in various areas First names and their Facebook profile pictures.
You will also be able to add non-Facebook friends as Neighbours or Buddies on the Website which you won't be friends with on Facebook.

Don't panic, we will show you the differences!

The example below shows who can and can't work facilities:

• For other farmers to work YOUR facilities, after you post them.
  ONLY the farmers that have you as a Neighbour OR Buddy will see your posts.
  (THEY can see YOU in the Neighbours bar at the bottom of their game screen
  OR THEY can see YOU in their Buddy List)
  
  
• For YOU to work other farmers facilities, after they post them.
  YOU will see ONLY the posts from farmers that YOU have as a Neighbour OR Buddy.
  (YOU can see them in the Neighbours bar at the bottom of YOUR game screen
  OR YOU can see them in YOUR own Buddy List)
  
  
  No connection within Farm Town on the website means that they are NOT ANY of these:
  
  
• Not one of your Neighbours
• Not one of your Buddies
• You are not one of their Neighbours
• You are not one of their Buddies
  
  Which means that they:
  
  
• can not work your facilities as they won't be able to see them
• you won't see their facility posts to be able to work them
• you can't send train boosts to them as they won't be shown as part of the neighbour or buddy lists
• they can't send you train boosts as you won't be shown as part of their neighbour or Buddy lists.
  
  This lack of a connection can also affect other features within the game that requires it.

When you are considering who to add as a Neighbour and who you only need to add to your own Buddy List, keep the following in mind:

• You will see posts in the Facility Wall Requests and Other Wall Requests for those you have added as a Neighbour and also for those you have added as a Buddy.
  You will not see posts for anyone else.
  
  
• If a friend has you as one of their Neighbours OR one of their Buddies they can see your posts. If they are NOT a Neighbour for you and are not on your Buddy List either, you do not have any connecting with them, so you can't see their posts!
  
  
• Ships, when the Neighbour connection is only at their end you can still receive their Ships. You can not put them on your Logbook until they are one of your Neighbours.
  
  
• Trains, when the connection is only at their end you can still receive their Trains, but you can not send them a Train boost until they are one of your Neighbours OR one of your Buddies.
  
  
• Currently Neighbours and Buddies don't earn the Bonus Chest when hired at market - methods are being researched on how to identify when someone you hire is a neighbour or buddy so that rewards for hiring a stranger (extra box) and being hired by a stranger (bonus chest) can still be earned.
  
  
• Neighbours can only see your super facility trading buckets in the Sell Super Facility Products to Neighbours section.
  
  
• In the NCC you can send Thanks to Neighbours and Buddies.
  
  
• You can ONLY use Neighbours to BOTH Import and Export from in the Facility Chains
  If someone has a you as one of their Neighbours, but you do NOT have them as your Neighbour. You can Import from them, but you can NOT Export to them.
  
  
• To get the maximum amount of different friends to interact with in the Website, you need different friends on each List. Ideally, you don't want the same friend on both lists (as one of your own Neighbours and is also on your own Buddy List).

  Meaning, that.....
  
  

  • If you already see a friend in your own Neighbour bar at the bottom of the game screen, you do not need to have them on your own Buddy list as well. That would just use a space which could be used to connect with someone else that isn't already one of your Neighbours or one of your Buddies.
    
    
  • If a current neighbour sends you a Buddy Request, you can still accept it so that they have a connection with you, but you do not need to add them as a Buddy as well as you already have them as your Neighbour.
    
    
  • Remember, that some features of the game you may want help with, can only be done with Neighbours. It will be up to you to decide who can help you with what you like to do in the game to know who to put on which list.

Increasing Current capacity limits for both Neighbours and Buddies has already been increased!!

One of the first things you will notice in various areas on the Website is where Neighbours and Buddies pictures can show up.

(Seaport Manager, Train Manager, Importing from the Facility Chains, the Games Activity Panel beneath the game screen are a few)
is that the farmers showing up will either have
Neighbour, Buddy or Manage under their picture.

Now that Farm Town is no longer on Facebook the Website will not be able to get any information from Facebook for who your friends are and how you may change those in the future.

Neighbours and Buddy connections within the game are important connections within the game.
It's strongly suggested that you start adding Neighbours/Buddies to help you with various features in the game like working facilities, ships, trains, gifting and many others.

This is an Example of Manage/Buddy/Neighbour on Train Boosts received:

Dara has been able to send this farmer a train boost because she has a connection to that farmer, she has them as her Neighbour OR she has them on her Buddy List.

The farmer she sent it to does NOT have Dara as a Neighbour OR Dara on their own Buddy List so they see Manage on her Train Boost when she sends it to them.

The farmer she sent it to can Boost that train, BUT what they can NOT do is return the favour and send a Boost back to them
UNLESS they click on Manage and add them as a Neighbour OR a Buddy.

This is what it can look like when you click on Manage.
Your percentages are likely to be different.



These examples are the different brief notifications you could see when adding a farmer to a List depending on if your List has room to add them or is Full.


You will see a similar Manage Sender Window when you click on Manage in other areas of the game. Not all of them are showing up or are fully enabled yet.

For example, the Manage when seen in the Activity Panel below your Game Screen (yellow Box that shows who has recently helped you) does not show in the Facebook version. It does show up in the Website.

When Manage is not enabled in various features, when you click on it you will see this:




We will be adding more information in the various Chapters with more detail about what happens when you use Manage and add them to a List, whether a permission to add will be sent that needs approval or it is assumed that no permission is needed so you know the differences.

Posting Facility Work Requests via the website does not post them to Facebook, they show up in the Website Facility Wall Requests page where those that have a connection to you in the game will be able to see them.

Facility Wall Requests - You will no longer see multiple facility posts from the same farmer in the Facility Wall Requests section of My Requests. Those of you that like to hire a non-neighbour, non-buddies at market do your farm work: When the game is no longer on Facebook or there is no connection at all on Facebook, you could still use these methods within the game to communicate to meet up:

1. Use In game messaging to communicate. Staying active and doing something in game on your own farms or for someone makes notifications on messages received much faster to see. Being idle in game delays the notification on the message box from showing up and you may need to navigate to another farm to see the notification show up on the envelope.

   As this is not instant communication like Facebook chat, if you do have a connection on Facebook you will find that quicker to get methods in place now to meet up in the game before the game is removed from Facebook.
   Facebook message settings could prevent you communicating with a non-Facebook friend, but if that connection is important to you, then it may be worth you it's likely that you will allow those messages to be read and sent without needing to be Facebook friends.

2. Use In game messages to visit a farm. The green man on messages when clicked on will take you to the farm of the person sending you the message so that you can meet up on a farm and go to the market from there.

   If the default farm is set to Private, you are likely to be redirected to their original farm 1, so make sure that you are communicating which farm to meet up on.

3. You can still get and copy your farm link via the farm selector manager and paste that into an in game message to send.

   Any farm link sent via in game messaging can also be copied from in game messaging and then pasted into your browser address bar to meet up on a specific farm. If this is a regular hire you can than save that link to your browser to continue using it to meet up. Remember that copying farm link on the Facebook version takes someone to the Facebook version of the game.
   Copying a farm link in the Webiste version takes them to the Website.

4. methods are being researched on how to identify when someone you hire is a neighbour or buddy so that rewards for hiring a stranger (extra box) and being hired by a stranger (bonus chest) can still be earned.

New Methods to Add Neighbours

Adding Neighbours on the website will now be done within the game.

If you currently have Facebook friends that you interact with frequently but they are not your Neighbours or Buddies, we strongly recommend that you add those friends to your Neighbours or Buddies using the Farmtown Facebook app while it's still available, this will make it easier to interact with those farmers in the website.

If you don't do this and Facebook deactivate the Farmtown app, you will have to search for them manually in the website via email or user id, to be able to add them to your Neighbours or Buddies, this last part is still not completed.

In the coming days, your Neighbours capacity will be increased by 30% and your Buddy List capacity will be increased by 300% (3 times more), so in total, you should be able to have connections to almost 500 farmers in the game.

These Methods are completed:

1. The new avatar menu option 'Add to Neighbours'.
Requires permission for the sent request to be accepted.

2. The NEW 'Manage' buttons in these areas are enabled:

• Train Manager
• Seaport Manager
• Activity Panel (User Actions) beneath the game screen
• in the NCC Thank You window when Thanks are sent to you
  Adding to Neighbours or Buddies in those areas does not require consent when they were current Facebook friends before the game was deactivated on Facebook on 24th July, 2023.

3. When visiting a farmer, using the new 'Send Neighbour Request' and the new 'Send Buddy Request' icon in the farm owner toolbox at the bottom right.
This method requires permission for the request to be accepted in the new Friends List.

This method is not completed yet:

4. When you scroll all the way to the left in your Neighbour Bar, click the blue neighbour icon.
When enabled. It will require permission for the sent request to be accepted.

Using Manage to Add a Neighbour.

This is an Example of Manage/Buddy/Neighbour on Train Boosts received:
on the Website you can ONLY send train boosts to those
you have as a Neighbour and those you have on your Buddy list

Payments can be made via Paypal or Stripe, the 2 leading payment processors globally.
Both services allow you to use your credit card to pay.
There are no longer any options to buy coins.

The method to buy Farm Cash is a little different to how you buy it on Facebook.
You will be going to the Bank within the game instead of using the Buy Cash tab at the top of the screen.

You must be logged into the Website and have the game loaded, in order to purchase Farm Cash in Farm Town on the Website..

Click on the MAP icon.

You will see the NEW Bank with a green arrow.

Click on the Bank and you will see the amounts of Farm Cash you can buy at the top and at the bottom the two different Payment methods..

Please note that depending on where you are located there may also be local taxes or exchange rates that will need to be applied.




In the top section of that window you need to select which amount of FC you wish to buy, by clicking on it.
The green background and check mark will move to that amount.
The amount selected is the amount you will be buying if you proceed.

In the example below, 250FC is selected in the left picture, 120FC is selected in the right picture.



To use PayPal click on the PayPal button bottom left of the window.





To use Stripe click on the Stripe button bottom right of the window.




When you click on the Payment method you want to use, you will briefly see this popup and then a new tab will open in your browser.




To continue with your purchase look in the browser tab that opened to provide your payment details and complete the purchase.

In the browser tab where the game is loaded, that popup will change to one of these depending on what amount you chose and which method you chose to pay with.

IF Your Farm Cash is not added within a few minutes of purchasing, OR you do not complete the purchase for any reason in the last 10 days you will see this banner over the game screen next time you reload the game which tells you what you can do:

Open the Bank again and click on Restore Purchases and that should resolve most issues with bought Farm Cash not being added to your game.

IF using Restore Purchases does not resolve your issue or you have any further issues or enquires regarding Farm Cash. At the bottom of that window is also the contact email address you can use to send an email to the Support Team. billing@slashkey.com

Using PayPal:

PayPal is popular with those that like to use and different cards to make purchases, have one place where they can update those card details whenever needed, and to be able to select any of them when making a payment on any website that uses PayPal.
This saves time from having to enter the details each time you make a purchase or saving them to browsers, saving each of them for different websites which would mean also updating the card details on all of them when you need a new card or change your address etc.

Click on the Map

Then click on the Bank

Make sure that the PayPal background at the top of the window is green

Then click on the blue button on the amount of Farm Cash you would like to buy.



If you already have a free PayPal account and have never used it to make a purchase on the website you will see the window below.
Enter your email address that you used to register your account with PayPal and then click on Next and you will be asked to login and then you can use your payments saved with PayPal to complete the purchase as usual.

NOTE: Some countries may not permit transferring money locally between PayPal accounts. If this is the case then you may not see the Debit/Credit card option in the PayPal window and will see the option to create a free PayPal account instead which would allow you to pay using PayPal as international payments are permitted.

This window is what you can see once you have used your PayPal account to make a purchase and if your log in details are already saved, which saves time for the next time you want to make a purchase.



If you change your mind about purchasing you can click on the Cancel and return to FARMTOWN, LLC toward the bottom of both of those windows. You will then see the payment was cancelled, and the where the game is loaded you can click on the green check mark to close the popup without making a purchase.

If you do not have a PayPal Account you can use the Guest checkout to use your debit or credit card, click on Pay by Debit or Credit Card.

You will then see a window asking you to enter your email address.
The email you use needs to be one you will keep active, it does not need to match the email you may have used to register for the Website.

If you wish to proceed with the purchase enter your email address and then click on Continue to Payment.

You are not creating a Pay Pal account at this point you will be able to opt out of that in the next window.



You will then see a window like this to be able to enter your card details and billing address.
The cost of the Farm Cash you are buying will be at the top of the window. In this example it's $4.99 USD



To opt out of Creating a free PayPal account scroll down the window and make sure that the toggle is off for Save information & create you PayPal account.
When that toggle is blue you need to click on it to turn it grey to opt out.

Then click on Continue.



If you want to create a free PayPal account make sure that toggle is blue and provide the rest of the details requested.

Then click on Create and Account and Continue.



You will then need to add your card details to PayPal to save them there and make the purchase.

Once payment has completed you with see the Payment Approved message, the popup in game will show what Farm Cash you purchased and will be added to your game shortly after you click the green check mark.
If you have a PayPal account PayPal will also send an email to you with the details of the purchase.
Your bank/credit card statement will show a payment made to FARMTOWNLLC



IF your Farm Cash isn't added very shortly, try reloading the game for it to update.

Do NOT make another purchase if your Farm Cash is not added after reloading.

Go to the Account tab at the top of your game screen, click on Farm Cash Activity Log and see if the purchase has registered there.

Using Stripe:



Instead of using the Facebook Meta Pay on Facebook you are using Stripe to enter your card details.

Click on the Map

Then click on the Bank

Make sure that the Stripe background at the top of the window is green

Then click on the blue button on the amount of Farm Cash you would like to buy.

You will then see the Stripe window to enter your card details.
The amount of Farm Cash and cost will show top left.
In this example it is 25 Farm Cash $4.99:

When you have filled out the details, there is also an option where you can add a check mark in the box, the towards the bottom of the window to save your card details to Strip if you wish.



If you change your mind about purchasing mouseover the FARMTOWN LLC at the top left of that window and back will appear. Click on it to cancel the purchase.

You will then see the payment was cancelled, and the where the game is loaded you can click on the green check mark to close the popup without making a purchase.

To proceed with the purchase click on the blue Pay button.

When the purchase is completed you will see the Payment approved message.

IF your Farm Cash isn't added very shortly, try reloading the game for it to update.

Do NOT make another purchase if your Farm Cash is not added after reloading.

Go to the Account tab at the top of your game screen, click on Farm Cash Activity Log and see if the purchase has registered there.

NEW Criteria and Method for Train Boosts!

Who can I can send Train Boosts to on the Website?

You can send a Train Boost to your own Neighbours or own Buddies.
(YOU can see them in the Neighbours bar at the bottom of YOUR game screen
OR YOU can see them in YOUR own Buddy List)

Who can send ME Train Boosts to on the Website?

Anyone that has YOU as their Neighbour or Buddy can send you a Train Boost.
(THEY can see YOU in the Neighbours bar at the bottom of their game screen
OR THEY can see YOU in their Buddy List)

Why am I seeing Manage on a Train Boost?

You are seeing this because you do not have that farmer as one of your own Neighbours and they are not on your Buddy List.

They are able to send you one as you ARE either on their Neighbours List or on their Buddy List.
This is likely to be:

• a friend you currently have on the Facebook,
• or had at some point (possibly a forgotten friend, someone who stopped playing and now plays
• it's stranger that had sent you a Neighbour or Buddy request that you accepted.
  As well as Add Buddy there is an Add Neighbour option in the Avatar menu.
• or the more uncommon reason. It could be someone you forgot to go remove yourself as their Neighbour and Buddy before breaking the Facebook friend connection.

How to Use Manage on a Train Boost:

This is an Example of Train Boosts received in the Train Manager:



Dara has been able to send this farmer a train boost because she has a connection to that farmer, either as a Neighbour OR as a Buddy.

The farmer she sent it to does NOT have Dara as a Neighbour OR as a Buddy so it shows Manage on her Train Boost when she sends it to them.

As the Train Boost shows Manage to the farmer she sent it to. They can Boost that train,
BUT what they can NOT do is return the favour and send a Boost back to them,
UNLESS they click on Manage and add them as a Neighbour OR a Buddy.

This is what it can look like when you click on Manage.
Your percentages are likely to be different.



These examples are the different brief notifications you could see when adding a farmer to a List depending on if your List has room to add them or is Full.

You will also notice that the way to send Train Boosts looks different.

When you click on Request Boost on one of your OWN Trains to send Boosts to farmers you will see this type of window:

The All Farmers Filter when clicked on allows you to change the Lists to specific friends.



Do NOT select farmers in one list and then switch to different list before Sending Boost Requests.
This works the same way as the Facebook version. It does not remember who was selected in a previous list, when you change the list without sending a Request the selected farmers revert to Unselected.
You are not likely to notice that this happens unless a farmer happens to meet the criteria for showing up in several different lists so that you can see them in more than one.
If you like to use several lists, please Send the Requests using one list BEFORE you change the list to a different filter.


The Search box at the top allows you to search for specific friends by typing in their First name or Avatar names.


The AZ Filter:


Selected Stay in Place Using this filter means that when you select a farmer to send to they stay in the same position in the list.

Selected Move to Top Using this filter means that when you select a farmer, they then move to the top of the list, which can be useful if you want to check the list again before you send the gifts.

Selected Move to Bottom This setting is the Default Setting. Using this filter means that when you select a farmer, they then move to the bottom of the list.
This can be useful when you want to send gifts to all farmers or lot of farmers. When you click Select on the farmer top left of the list, that farmer moves down to the bottom of the list and the next farmer appears in it's place allowing you to continually Select farmers without scrolling until you have selected the maximum of 50 farmers.

This behaviour is very similar to how the farmers lists in the Facebook Send Gifts works.

Click on Select on each farmer you want to send a train boost to. The background of that farmer will turn PINK and the Select button will dim and Change to Unselect.

If you made a mistake and selected the wrong farmer Clicking on Unselect will remove that farmer and change the button back to Select.

At the bottom middle of that window as you Select friends the 0 changes and starts counting how many you selected.
This helps you know how many boosts you are sending at that particular time.

The Unselect All button at the bottom, lets you Unselect all the farmers before you Send the Boosts if you think you made a a lot of mistakes and wanted to start over.

To Send the Requests click on the Send Request button at the bottom right of the window and that will sends all the farmers you selected a train boost with ONE click
