How do I fish?
How do I fish?
To fish, all you need is the fishing rod and some sort of pond, lake, river or sea coast on your farm. The fishing rod can be found by clicking on the Yellow Tool box. Click on the tool to use it then click on a water to start catching fish. When you are done fishing, click the green man to stop using the tool. How do i know when my fish are ready to be fished? Hover your mouse over each water, it will display the name of the water, how many fish, how much bait you have for that type of water. If the waters have been recently fished, it will also display how long until they are ready again. If there is no time displayed, they are ready to fish. In this image it shows the Big Lake with Boat is ready to fish, it has 199 fish, and there is 400 freshwater bait... In this image there are 0 fish, so the lake has already been fished, and will be ready again in 7.9 hours. It also shows there are no freshwater bait available for fishing... How to get bait and what it is for is explained in a later post in this thread Using bait. You do NOT have to have bait in order to fish your waters, you will still get fish without it. Note: Newly bought waters take time to become ready. Coin waters take 20 hours, Farm Cash waters take 8 hours. For faster fishing you can buy the fishing boats. Fishing boats are explained in Chapter 21 Tools. Click this link and it will take you to that post... What is the fishing boat? Last edited by Tiger; Oct 11 2023 at 02:21 PM. |

What kind of water do I need for fish?
Any of the following waters listed below will work for fishing. There are other waters, like waves, beaches with and without sand, patches of water, but they are just for decoration. Each type of water holds different fish and a different amount.
To find out which type of fish is in which waters, open the Store, go to the Ponds section and click the ? in the box for each water you are interested in buying. It will tell you which fish can be caught in it. Last edited by marymarcel; Jan 20 2021 at 12:00 PM. |

What can I do with the fish? Once you catch a fish, it goes into your Harvests and Products section of storage. You can then sell the fish at the marketplace. Or you can use the fish in facilities to make dishes. This image shows you just your fish in storage. Top right of the box you can see it is set to Fish. The drop down arrow, when you click it, lets you filter your storage to AllThe Search Icon will let you search your storage for a particular item. The A-Z Filter will let you sort your Storage by AlphabeticallyThis question icon you see top right of each box of fish, when you click it, will show you what you can make with the fish. Bait is used when fishing to increase the amount of fish you get from waters.
When there is Bait in waters, it will give you and the farm owner 2x the fish. The bait is taken from the farm owners waters. Each fish you catch uses one bait. You can get freshwater bait (lakes, ponds, rivers) or seawater bait (for sea coasts). Bait is available by gifting, producing in the Fish Farming Plant or by working a neighbours Fishing Tackle shop which has bait stocked. Storing Bait: Gifted bait, bait from your fish farming plant and any bonuses you get from posting your own bait bonus gets stored with waters. The exception to this rule is any bait you send to a friend when you click on their bonus post, your share goes to storage, which you can use to stock the Fishing Tackle shop if you own one or just sell at market. This is what bait looks like in your gift box when you accept some bait as gifts. When you store it from your gift box, it gets sent to your waters. You must have at least one lake, pond or river on your farm to store freshwater bait. You must have at least one sea coast on your farm to store seawater bait. The water will tell you how much bait is left, if you hover over it with your mouse. It will also show you the name of the water, how many fish are in it if it's ready to fish, if it's not ready to fish it will tell you how long until they are ready to be fished. For Freshwater bait hover your mouse over a lake, pond or river. For Seawater bait hover your mouse over a sea coast. Last edited by Tiger; Oct 11 2023 at 02:22 PM. |
