Maybe a dumb question, what is the difference between being able to plow 3x3 from the pop up versus the solar powered plower?

Since the new launch, I have encountered the following problems. One being the actual launching of farmtown. It launches some of the time and not always like it used too. Also I have no avatar that I can see and many of my friend's avatar do not appear either. I have reloaded and updated the flash player and this has not helped. Can someone help me please. Thanks. I'm confused. I never understood why we got a chain link fence, but no gates. Now we have black iron gates, but no black iron fences?????

Nice re-use of graphics on the new tools. I like this game for the fact that we can ask for things and then they actually appear in the game
