Default What are coins?

With coins you can do your shopping in Farm Town (purchasing items such as seeds, trees, decorations) and also use them to pay employees who plow your fields.

Employees who harvest your fields are paid directly for crops, and do not cost you any coins in this regard.

Default How do I earn coins?

You can earn coins by selling your crops, working on Other Peoples' farms by plowing or harvesting.

You can earn by selling the gifts you receive from friends.

You can earn by putting your crops and products into the facilities, posting for others to work on your facilities. You can also work on other farmers facilities.

You can earn by doing daily quests

Finally, you can earn by helping to maintain your neighbours' farms (Tending).

Default How do I earn coins quicker?

When your crops are ready, make sure you hire someone to collect them, you'll earn more by hiring someone else to harvest for you.

When you can, hire someone else to plow your fields: instead of costing you 20 coins a field, it will only cost you 15 coins to hire someone else. Also, if you hire a neighbour it will only cost you 10 coins!

The first time, reinvest all your money in seeds. Depending on what you're able to do, plant raspberries grapes or potatoes for a quick turnover of profit.

Always remember, seed your fields before shopping in the store. This will prevent you from spending money in the store and not being able to plant all of your fields. By planting fields you make a regular income!

Default How do I visit other peoples' farms?

You can click on a neighbour, in the neighbours bar, and go to their farm by clicking on their image in the bar shown above and choosing "Visit xxx's Farm".

If you have many neighbours, click on the green and blue arrows which are to the left of the neighbour bar which will allow you to browse through your list of neighbours. If the chat window has appeared where the neighbour bar should be, click the " Hide" button (just below the green arrow).

You can also visit the farms of anyone on line, by clicking on their avatar and choosing Visit xxx's farm from the menu.

Default How do I move around the market?

Once you're at the market, simply click where you want to go. Your avatar will move to where you clicked.

If however, you've just sold your crops, a "save message" may sometimes appear. Wait a couple of seconds and try clicking again.

Default How do I move around my farm?

Firstly, using the directional pad which is located just right of the "Walk" icon.

If you'd rather not use this method then you can click on your farm (this may need to be an empty spot and not an item), while holding the down the left mouse button, move can also pan your farm by moving the mouse.

To move your avatar, click where you want to go. Your avatar will move to where you clicked.

Default What does the message regarding the "lottery" mean?

When you first connect to the game for that day a message will appear stating that you won the lottery and have been awarded a varying amount of coins. This will happen the first time you go to your farm daily.

This is just a little bonus for the regular players

Default Buying and selling between farmers

You can now also sell primary products to players. A new option available to all Farmtown players is the ability to sell and buy product from each other. The Buyer and Seller do not need to be friends, neighbors or buddies and all transactions can take place anywhere within Farmtown.

To initiate a transaction, click on the Buyer's avatar and select 'sell products to'.

The Seller now has a few selling options to complete the sale offer.

There is a little drop down arrow to the right of each section which allows you to change the options for selling.

Category: choose whether you would like to sell product harvested from Crops, From Trees, From Animals, Fish or Flowers.
Product: choose the specific item you would like to sell.
Quantity: choose how much of the chosen product you would like to sell
Mark Up : choose your asking price for your product

Mark Up options:
- 10% below market price: if the Seller wants to give the Buyer a discount at his own expense
- At market price: this will be the same as selling the products at the market
- 10% to 50% above market price: in this case the seller is making a profit

*NOTE TO SELLERS* Only primary products are available for sale to other players. Meaning, product that has been harvested directly from crops, trees, animals and flowers or fished.

The Buyer will now receive a menu giving them the option to review the offer or decline the offer.

If the Buyer reviews the offer and clicks the green check mark the offer will be finalized and the Seller will be given the option to make further offers to the buyer.

If the Buyer declines the offer, the Seller will be given the option to renegotiate the terms of that same offer.

*NOTE TO BUYERS* Every user can purchase up to 1500 products from other users every 12 hours. Whereas the Seller has no limit in the amount he or she can sell.

To Increase your buying limit see the next post What is my Buying limit? on page 2.

The final price that the Seller and the Buyer see may be different. The Buyer is always paying the price for a medium box, even if the Seller is selling a combination of large and medium boxes. The difference will be compensated by the Mayor.
