Default What are coins?

With coins you can do your shopping in Farm Town (purchasing items such as seeds, trees, decorations) and also use them to pay employees who plow your fields.

Employees who harvest your fields are paid directly for crops, and do not cost you any coins in this regard.

Default How do I earn coins?

You can earn coins by selling your crops, working on Other Peoples' farms by plowing or harvesting.

You can earn by selling the gifts you receive from friends.

You can earn by putting your crops and products into the facilities, posting for others to work on your facilities. You can also work on other farmers facilities.

You can earn by doing daily quests

Finally, you can earn by helping to maintain your neighbours' farms (Tending).

Default How do I earn coins quicker?

When your crops are ready, make sure you hire someone to collect them, you'll earn more by hiring someone else to harvest for you.

When you can, hire someone else to plow your fields: instead of costing you 20 coins a field, it will only cost you 15 coins to hire someone else. Also, if you hire a neighbour it will only cost you 10 coins!

The first time, reinvest all your money in seeds. Depending on what you're able to do, plant raspberries grapes or potatoes for a quick turnover of profit.

Always remember, seed your fields before shopping in the store. This will prevent you from spending money in the store and not being able to plant all of your fields. By planting fields you make a regular income!

Default How do I visit other peoples' farms?

You can click on a neighbour, in the neighbours bar, and go to their farm by clicking on their image in the bar shown above and choosing "Visit xxx's Farm".

If you have many neighbours, click on the green and blue arrows which are to the left of the neighbour bar which will allow you to browse through your list of neighbours. If the chat window has appeared where the neighbour bar should be, click the " Hide" button (just below the green arrow).

You can also visit the farms of anyone on line, by clicking on their avatar and choosing Visit xxx's farm from the menu.

Default What is the Marketplace for?

Q. What is the Marketplace for?

A. The Marketplace is where you go to meet other farmers. You can look for work there, hire farmers to work your farms, buy and sell, meet others that like to play minigames and meet new farmers.

To get to the Marketplace you just click on the Map icon and click on the marketplace you want to go to. There are 2 Marketplaces, one for Work and Hire, the other for Sell and Trade.

To move around the Marketplace you just click your mouse where you want to go and your avatar will go there.

You can also sell your harvests/products at the Marketplace. There is a Sell and Trade Marketplace which is better for selling, you are less likely to be hired there when you are busy trying to sell. For detailed information on how to sell your harvests/products or gifts see Chapter 14 - Selling from storage or gift box.

For details on how to buy/sell basic products to another farmer see Buying and selling between farmers.

There is no limit on how much you can sell to another farmer, but there is a limit on how much you can buy from another farmer. For details see What is my Buying limit?

For details on how to hire someone to work your farms see Chapter 10 - Hiring.

Q. What are the coloured backgrounds on avatar names at market?

A. These indicate what the farmer is intending to do at market, which can be helpful when you want to know who is looking for work or who is there to hire for example.

To do this you must be at one of the market places or the inn.
Go to one of those places then click on your avatar. You will see this >>

The first 2 options allow you to go to your farm or change your avatar appearance.

To change your avatar status click on “Change Status Message” and a new window will open like this >>

In the top box where your avatar name is, you can leave that as it is or edit that to add a short message, like what it is you are wanting, if you wish. Just click in the box to type or delete what is there.

Then click on one of the options that suits what you are there to do.

Click the green check mark to save your changes and your avatar status will change to that colour. If you change your mind before you click the green check mark, just click the red x to cancel.

If you chose the pink background, Hire (don’t send me Hire Requests), you will not be sent hire requests and will not be able to accept work until you change your status back to one of the other options.

The status is only saved for that session, you may change it as often as you wish but you must be at the market place or inn to do it.

When you reload the game your status will change back to white with your Avatar name.

If you send a hire request to a farmer, their background colour will change to orange. If they do not respond it will then turn to yellow. This will help you know who you have already sent a request to so you don't send to the same person again.

Default How do I move around my farm?

Firstly, using the directional pad which is located just right of the "Walk" icon.

If you'd rather not use this method then you can click on your farm (this may need to be an empty spot and not an item), while holding the down the left mouse button, move can also pan your farm by moving the mouse.

To move your avatar, click where you want to go. Your avatar will move to where you clicked.

Default What does the message regarding the "lottery" mean?

When you first connect to the game for that day a message will appear stating that you won the lottery and have been awarded a varying amount of coins. This will happen the first time you go to your farm daily.

This is just a little bonus for the regular players

Default What is the Tool box?

What is the Tool box?

The Tool box is where you can find all your tools, (for the larger tools you will see them if you have bought them and placed them into item storage. Note: Farm Cash items do NOT use up your storage space, you can store as many Farm Cash items as you want). You will also find your facility manager, quest managers, ship manager, minigames and many more items that can help you with the game. When you first start playing the game you will not have many items in the tool box. As you start playing and levelling up you will gradually get access to more items and then again when you start buying the bigger tools and place them into item storage.

To open your Tool box, click on the tool box icon. You will then see something similar to this, but it will show you your tools. Anything that is greyed out is something you do not have access to yet due to game level or it is a tool you do not own or it is a tool you have not placed it into item storage. It is always a good idea to place any tools you own into item storage, that way you can access your tools from the toolbox from any farm without having to move the tools to each farm. It also helps when you need to upgrade a tool as the game will be able to see what you already own. To use a tool just click on it to pick it up. Click the green man to stop using it. To close the tool box click on the big white x just beneath the bottom right of the window.

These arrows will show at either the top or bottom of each column when there are more items in the column than can be displayed all at once, just click on them to scroll the column up or down.

FIRST COLUMN FROM THE LEFT SIDE:

The Farm Selector Manager is where you can see how many facilites you have on each farm, rearrange the order of your farms and get your farm link for any specific farm. You need to have 2 or more farms to use this tool. Full details in the following link >>

Minigames gives you access to each of those games.

SECOND COLUMN FROM THE LEFT SIDE:

Farm Stats. Depending on how many farms you have expanded to a certain size, this lets you see the status of your crops, trees, flowers, fish on one or more farms. There are various filters allowing to show by ready, growing, now or in so many hours.

Show Times.
  • The Gamewide section gives you access to information on when you can next buy products from another farmer, open a new quest, post bonues or ingredients, refuel, send gifts, rework facilites and reaccelerate trains.
  • The Per-Farm section shows you when you can fertilise, water flowers, or irrigate.
  • The Trains section, shows you which farms your trains are on and when they are due back.
  • The Minigames section shows you when prizes are next available in various minigames you can play.

Trophies are what you can earn by playing the game, buying, adding neighbours. This is also a good quick way to know how many neighbours you have.

Belts and Dans. This where you can see your progress on belts and dans for harvesting and making products in your facilites. There are separate sections, for seeds, trees, flowers, fish, products. The A-Z filter lets you sort by belts/dans or product name. The Funnel filter lets you sort by specific belt or dan.

This is also where you can find your recent belts to post. Look in the "Recent Belts" section. From there you can chose which ones of the belts/dans you have recently earned to post. You can post 5 in 12 hours.

The Camera lets you take a photo of your farm which posts to Facebook. Click on the camera, chose whether to show the whole farm or a window onto a portion of the farm, add a caption if you wish, choose small medium or large for the size of the photo, then choose green or white background. Last thing to do is click the Next button. You photo will be published to Facebook.

THIRD COLUMN FROM THE LEFT SIDE:

If you own the Herding Robot, this tool allows you to add animals in bulk to their sheds as long as there is room in the sheds for them.

The Add to Animal Building tool, lets you click on any animal and add it to the appropriate shed provided there is a shed on the farm for it and there is room in the shed for it. This adds animals one by one. Click on the tool to use it then click on the animal. Click the green man to stop using the tool.

If you own the Tower Crane, this tool lets you add items to storage in bulk, provided you have enough room in your Item storage for them.

The Add to Item Storage tool, lets you add items, one by one to storage, provided you have enough room in your Item storage. Click on the tool to use it then click on the item you want to add to storage. Click the green man to stop using the tool.

If you own one or more of the Freestyle Farm Designers you will see either an Orange OR a Green hand here. Information on these tools in the following link>>
http://r1.slashkey.com/forum/showthr...26#post5275626

The Yellow Edit hand, lets you click on any item on the farm, except fields, and move it to a new position on the farm as long as there is room for it to move to the new position. Click on the hand to use it, then click on the item you want to move, move it then click again to set it down. Click the green man to stop using the tool.

The Hide Item tool lets you temporarily hide items on the farm one by one. Click on the tool to use it then click on the item you want to hide. Click the green man to stop using the tool. To bring the hidden items back into view refresh your farm.

The Search tool lets you search for any specific item on the farm that is showing on your farm. Click on it and enter the name of the item you are looking for, then choose whether you want to highlight the item or hide non-matching items, then click the green check mark. If you have chosen to hide non-matching items, only the item you were looking for will be shown, and everything else will be hidden. You will then see bottom right “Show Items” which you can click to bring all items back into view.
