I've discovered the "non-ingrediant" option in the upper right corner of the inventory box. Inventory can be grouped relative to what it is. The last option is the noningrediant and when chosen there is no risk at all of selling something by mistake. It also makes selling easier because you don't have to move through your inventory to see what you need to sell.

That would be unless the next update starts using one of the non-ingrediant.
