I also use Firefox and have not difficulty at all with the gift exchange. I just click the exchange link and it pops up with the list of options. I pick the one I want and click exchange and POOF the gift I wanted is in my gift box.

Hmm... I play the App through Myspace, I'll guess you use Facebook? I've heard there are other issues when using Myspace to play.
