The original schedule was every March, June, September, and December give or take a month in either direction. The reason for the alteration to this is that although the developers started transferring the game to Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML) well before Flash Player was discontinued by Adobe they ran into unexpected problems after it was brought online. Coding is not easy and I still think they did a great job, but it did disrupt the usual pattern we are used to since there were other priorities.
