I moved your post to the thread about facilities. The off shore rig as with all the turbo facilities can be placed on the same farm as the single facility as they are different facilities.
For the salt open any one of your mineral mines and look at the box for salt. Make sure there is a check in the box. Checking it in any one of the mineral mines checks it in all of them.
If there is a problem with the tools not showing up then it is with an individual's settings. They need to possibly uncheck using their tools and then recheck it in the hire. You should be handed the biggest tool between you both that is needed when you land on the first farm and each successive farm for the work.
