Hi Palmarina,
Thier Farm Town ID is not always their Facebook ID. If they started playing only after we left Facebook then their ID would be assigned by by Farm Town and not Facebook. Facebook also sometimes changed and used different IDs for Facebook account number and game ID numbers. And I don't believe you can search Facebook by ID number.
In the pop up you got for the FC sent to you should have had their avatar name.
EDIT: You can try this link
https://apps.slashkey.com/farmtown/?farm_id=####### and replace the ###### with the ID. That will get you to their farms.
