I have brought FB prepaid cards and have used them for FT cash. So it can be done.
Once you know how many FB credits you have, Go to your farm and click the and click the Buy Cash tab. At the top.
A page will come up that sayes buy your package. Click on the package you want. Example---I have 506 FB credits. I don't want to use all the them so I will click on the one that sayes I will "buy" 120 credits.
I'll click terms then the green button that sayes "buy with credits"
Another pop-up will come up asking if you want to buy 120 credits for $19.99. Your not really paying real money. If you look in the upper right hand corner of the pop-up it will say "price 199 credits"
Click on buy not blue button and another pop-up will come up telling you that it was successful. Click OK--again blue button
And it will go through.
I now have 156 farm cash to use as I want.
Bring on the next update. I'm ready to spend.
