Don't know if this is the way to make the coop and wool shed work .. but what I had to do was to add a new animal to it then click to harvest it.. and it said your 3 hens have been added to your coop...

Just a little disappointed that the new buildings aren't on a more rustic scale that you had seemed to be doing as with the barn, chicken coop and tool shed from before........
