Switzerland-Thread
Gruss Helmi |
Cool.
Would you mind translating at the same time? You never know there may be something very relevant for the rest of us and we would missing not being able to read Swedish. |
Helmi asked if there is anyone here who speaks German because it would be enjoyable to communicate in German.
|
Hallo Helmi,
I do not speak German. I did start a thread called Which Country are you From in this section possibly someone will respond there who might speak German

It takes me just sometimes more sore how many people in this forum from my region come or in general German speak. Please, excuses me, my English is not so good. Regarts Helmi |
Would you be able to teach us phrases in German? Useful things that regular everyday people speak? I find translation sites do a bad job or sound too formal. What are cool phrases and everyday things people say to each other in German that you would hear in real conversation between friends?
Some things I would like to know are like this: I hope you're feeling better! What the heck does that mean? No way! You're not serious are you? Break a leg I hope this is a huge success! That was so cute That was so bizarre Have a great weekend Long day! What's up, hope you are fine and happy and all that good stuff. If this is a boring thing to do that's okay i just thought I'd ask! :) I have German friends I would love to use the language more at least in writing them :) They'd be surprised to have me using their language! :) |
Hi Helmi,
I hope you're feeling better!
Ich hoffe, dass Sie sich besser fühlen. (formal) What the heck does that mean? Was tut dieses Mittel? No way! Ich glaube es nicht. You're not serious are you? (informal) Break a leg Viel Glueck! I hope this is a huge success! That was so cute. Das war so nett. That was so bizarre. Das war so seltsam. Have a great weekend Haben Sie ein gutes Wochenende. (formal) What's up? Was ist los? What is the matter with you? Was ist mit Ihnen los? (informal) |
Thank you so much!!! This is so useful. If you like please keep adding stuff as you think of it. Anything people use back and forth is so cool I am trying to be better about using German in my writing my friends- they write everything to me in English so I want to add more phrases in German. :)

I find it really what plan them. Clear I become this supporting. I have found a really side with which one can translate whole sentences or even sales. Sometimes it does not translate just quite correctly, but one gets on almost always. Greeting Helmi The Link is: http://free-translation.imtranslator...sp?loc=en&ldr= |
I hope you're feeling better!
Ich hoffe, dass Sie sich besser fühlen. (formal) Correct What the heck does that mean? Was tut dieses Mittel? Was zum Teufel nochmal bedeutet dies No way! Ich glaube es nicht. Das war so nett. Das ist so süss. We used it in german for babies and little animals / nett = nice That was so bizarre. Das war so seltsam. Correct Have a great weekend Haben Sie ein gutes Wochenende. (formal) Wünsche ein gutes / schönes Wochenende What's up? Was ist los? Correct What is the matter with you? Was ist mit Ihnen los? (informal) Was ist los mit Ihnen |
Helmi,
Your farm is fantastic. I am not sure about a truley German thread only because we would need someone who would be willing to stick with it and be willing to read and translate the information people would be wanting on that thread. Out of curiosity, is the game in english where you play it or does the game itself at least translate to German for you? Between this and the thread I started about where people are from this does give me an idea for a new thread. I will be posting it today in the Social Section. |
