frustrating

what normally takes 20 mins now takes 2 hours. this change sucks big time. i usually hire only 1 to 2 people on my farms cos i hate overcrowding but i guess i have to hire like 20 workers now to get the job done as fast.

To Farm Town:

So How many Credits am I going to get for my Quad-Core computer on an F/o line, now that you've cut my speed back to that of your pathetic server????

My time is money, and I expect you to pay for it, since you've chosen to waste it!

The ONLY reason for the mixup, is that you've been spending the money people PAY for this game getting your jollies, instead of upgrading the servers beyond what the average home user has!

I was an addicted fan of FT. It's the only game I played. Tonight I did a harvest and plow job for a friend and neighbor. A 5 -6 min former job took me well over 1/2 hr. I am not planting or working on friend's farms until a better method is introduced. I can't afford the kind of time imposed on me now when harvesting and plowing. I have no idea how seeding will go and don't intend to find out.

I will not leave or quit the game. However, I will sit back and wait to see what happens. If it doesn't improve, then I will leave. JMHO.

I have been loving this game for a few weeks... but this fix reallllly stinks. It takes TOO long to do what we did rapidly in the past. If it stays this painfully slow I will stop. It makes no sense, and the only thing it does is make us watch our little avatar walk all the way across the field.

Hog the work? How is working fast a problem?
I hire 1 or 2 people! NO PROBLEM! When I hire, I expect them to be fast!
maybe these idiots that hire 10 people at a time.

Perhaps they did do it to cut back on cheats. I don't know. I do know that it took the person plowing my 700 plot field a very long time to get done. It kind of encourages me to hire more than one person, if I am in a hurry. Also, people could have done away with the greed plowers and harvesters by only hiring one person at a time to do either. I have always hired one person and if they did me well on harvesting, allowed them to plow as well. If someone made a mess of the field, they usually didn't stay and I rehired someone to clean up the mess and plow. It has worked for me. While they were waiting for it to be safe to be hired to plow or to leave, we would chat if I was on the farm. Now they can't chat without stopping what they are doing. By the time they are done, they are ready to leave. This way discouraages one to go a long distance to plow if there is not much to do, as it takes the avatar a long time to walk across a large field. On the plus side, people don't lose coins or points by leaving the farm too soon. Of course, putting out a notice that one needs to wait for the coins and points to quit goign up before leaving the farm, would also help. Or perhaps they could make it so the person can't leave until it is safe, just like if I am seeding, it won't let me do things sometimes and says I am busy.

Perhaps this change is needed in order to make it work for everyone. I don't like it, but don't find it impossible, just slow. I really don't know why games don't simply put up a pop up when a new change is implemented. They LOVE pop ups! That way people would not be in the dark. Lots of people thought only they were having trouble, and tried different things to remedy it. Why not just give us a pop up and let us know about the changes? COMMUNICATION. That is really important to me. Why not communicate. It would probably even cut back on upset people. It isn't like people arent' goign to find out anyway. But, they would at least know what is happening.

Too bad you can't give us a choice of which way we want it. That way everyone could be happy. But, if this does away with cheaters, perhaps everyone should have it.

I hate the new slower harvesting option! Takes too long!!!

So if I'm a fast accurate clicker, by your rules, I have to be "nice" and share 50/50 or 33/33/33 or 25/25/25/25 even if the other players are slow, "freezing", don't know how to play, etc.? And if someone gets more than their share, you label them rude and greedy? What do you do, count the squares just to be sure??

Welcome to the Socialist Republic of FarmTown.

Right on! Could not say it better!

Terrible changes

I realize there were problems before, but the new method of harvesting/plowing just stinks. It's slow, jerky, and hard to adjust to. I used to enjoy watching my avatar walk around cleaning up all the fields I had finished. The only time I lost points/coins was when I was too anxious and left before my avatar had finished. My bad, not the game's. Fortunately, I've reached my goals so I won't be playing nearly as much. This was a terrible change that made playing FT much worse. Sorry.

Hog the work?? Do you mean "Now everyone is slow like me?"
